Alex Barbir Denies Allegations of Incitement and Foreign Ties in TV Interview

Alex Barbir has denied allegations of inciting violence and acting as a foreign agent during an interview on TVC News.

Speaking on the programme, Barbir rejected claims that he had called for violence or murder, stating instead that his advocacy has been focused on self-defense for communities affected by attacks in parts of northern Nigeria, including Plateau, Taraba, Benue, and Kaduna states.

He also refuted reports linking him to a meeting where a revenge attack was allegedly planned, insisting that he arrived at the venue after the meeting had already taken place and had no involvement in such discussions.

Addressing further allegations, Barbir dismissed claims that he is affiliated with foreign intelligence agencies, including suggestions that he is connected to Mossad, or involved in activities related to mineral resource interests.

Barbir highlighted his contributions to community development, noting that he has been involved in building churches, schools, and supporting the reconstruction of villages affected by violence.

The allegations against him have circulated in recent weeks amid heightened security concerns in parts of the country, though no official statement has been issued by authorities regarding the claims.
