The African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership in Bwari Area Council has strongly condemned what it described as a violent invasion of its party office, involving destruction of property and alleged threats to the life of its chairman, Bartholomew Ameme.
In a press statement released by the chairman’s office, the party detailed an incident in which one Josiah Musa Koche, reportedly accompanied by a group of thugs, forcefully stormed the ADC office in Bwari Area Council, triggering chaos and confrontation. According to the statement, the group engaged in aggressive behavior, including shouting, finger-pointing, and verbal attacks directed at the chairman in what was described as a highly provocative and disrespectful manner.
The situation reportedly escalated when members of the chairman’s media team, who were documenting the unfolding events, came under attack. Their phones, vehicle, and other working tools were allegedly damaged while carrying out their duties. The party further disclosed that office properties were vandalized during the incident, leading to significant losses and disruption of activities.
While noting that investigations are ongoing, the ADC leadership called for calm among party members and supporters, urging all parties to remain law-abiding and avoid further escalation. The statement emphasized that there is documented evidence identifying those allegedly involved, which will be presented to appropriate authorities.
Of particular concern, the party raised alarm over alleged ongoing threats to the life and safety of Chairman Ameme, reportedly linked to Josiah and his associates. The leadership described such threats as unacceptable, stressing that they would be addressed through legal and security channels.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, democracy, and the rule of law, the ADC condemned the incident as an act of violence and intimidation. The party also called on relevant security agencies to act swiftly to protect lives and property, and to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The statement concluded with an appeal for peace, urging stakeholders to allow the law to take its course.
