Popular Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The veteran actor made the announcement in a viral video circulating online, where he disclosed that he would be contesting to represent the Bwari/AMAC Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Speaking in the video, Ike said his ambition was driven by the need to bring real change and reclaim political power for ordinary Nigerians.
“I’m running for the Federal House of Representatives under Bwari/AMAC Constituency in Abuja and we want to make a federal statement,” he declared.
The actor, known for his outspoken views on governance and national development, urged Nigerians to become more politically conscious and actively participate in the electoral process.
According to him, the time has come for citizens to stop complaining and begin taking responsibility for the direction of the country through the ballot box.
“If I’ve made you happy as Nigerians, I want to step into the real thing right now. Let’s block those boys wey think say na dem get power,” he stated.
He further called on Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that electoral participation remains the strongest democratic weapon available to the people.
“I’m not angry at our politicians anymore — they’ve clearly shown they don’t care about us. I’m angry at you Nigerians. Go and collect your PVCs. That’s the only noise we need right now,” Ike added.
The development adds to the growing list of entertainers and public figures seeking political offices under emerging political platforms ahead of the 2027 elections, as the Nigeria Democratic Congress continues to attract attention nationwide.
