Abuja is dirty; Needs Cleaning by Dr Moses Paul, ADC AMAC Chairmanship Candidate.
On Making Abuja Clean Again
My good people of Abuja Municipal Area Council—my brothers and sisters of AMAC—good day. Today, I stand From Karu to Jikwoyi… from Byazhin to Garki… from Nyanya to Lugbe… from Kubwa to Apo… our environment has been abandoned. Refuse dumps have taken over our streets. Blocked drainages flood our homes. Mosquitoes and pollution threaten our health. Markets overflow with waste because the system has collapsed. This is not just unacceptable—it is a failure of leadership.
For too long, AMAC has been ruled by people who see the council as an ATM instead of a responsibility. They collect taxes from market women yet cannot provide a single functional waste-management system. They take environmental levies from shop owners yet do nothing to keep their surroundings clean. They send taskforce to harass citizens but cannot provide bins, trucks, or treatment facilities. This must end. And it will end.
I, Dr. Mo, candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stand before you with a bold commitment:
We will make Abuja clean again.
Not by slogans. Not by empty promises. But by a structured, modern, accountable environmental system that works for the people. I present to you a 5-Point Clean Abuja Action Plan:
- A New AMAC Waste Management Authority (AWMA)
A fully equipped, professionally managed agency with:
- modern waste collection trucks
- clean-up units for every ward
- 24/7 response teams
- Community Recycling Centres

Every community will have a waste-sorting point to:
- reduce landfill pressure
- create jobs for youth
- convert waste to economic value
- “Clean Market, Clean Environment” Initiative
All markets will have:
- covered waste collection points
- daily evacuation schedules
- sanitation officers assigned to each market
- Monthly AMAC Environmental Sanitation Day
Not the old politics of force—
but a coordinated, community-driven clean-up with:
- tools provided
- waste bags provided
- trucks deployed
- incentives for best-performing wards
- Transparent Public Monitoring System
Every waste-collection route will be tracked and made public.
No more ghost workers.
No more invisible trucks.
No more excuses.
The people will monitor us, and we will report to the people.
My people, you deserve a clean, healthy, organized AMAC.
You deserve an AMAC you can be proud of.
You deserve leaders who work—not leaders who disappear.
Under ADC leadership, Abuja will shine again:
Our streets will be swept.
Our markets will be orderly.
Our drainages will be cleared.
Our communities will breathe clean air.
Our children will grow in a healthy environment.
This is our promise.
This is our covenant with the people.
This is the transformation we bring.
But my people, no dream become reality without your support.
No change comes without your vote.
No transformation happens until you stand up and say:
Enough is enough.
We want a clean AMAC.
We want a working AMAC.
We want ADC.
We want Dr. Mo.
Let us join hands—youth, women, elders, traders, artisans, residents and build the Abuja we deserve.
Not tomorrow—NOW.
Vote ADC.
Vote Dr. Mo.
Vote Clean Abuja.
Vote Better Leadership.
Together, we will make Abuja clean again.
Thank you and God bless AMAC.
God bless Abuja.
God bless Nigeria.
