The National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the voter registration process and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the call while emphasizing the importance of citizens’ participation in the democratic process. According to the NDC, the PVC remains a critical tool that allows Nigerians to exercise their constitutional right to vote and influence decisions concerning the future of the country.
The organisation encouraged young Nigerians, first-time voters, and citizens who have relocated or lost their previous voter cards to ensure they complete the necessary registration and update their electoral information before the deadline set by relevant authorities.
The NDC stressed that active participation in elections goes beyond political campaigns, adding that voters must be prepared to make informed choices during elections. It called on Nigerians to remain engaged, follow electoral guidelines, and avoid waiting until the last minute before completing registration requirements.
The group also highlighted the role of citizens in strengthening democracy through peaceful participation and accountability. It noted that credible elections depend not only on the activities of political parties and electoral bodies but also on the willingness of citizens to participate responsibly.
