The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as false a purported list of winners from its primary elections circulating on social media and other platforms, describing the document as fake and unauthorized.
In a statement, the party urged members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the list, stressing that it did not originate from the APC or any of its officially recognized organs.
According to the party, the process for conducting and announcing primary election results remains governed by its constitution, internal guidelines, and the timetable issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The APC emphasized that only results released through its authorized channels and duly certified by the appropriate party committees should be regarded as authentic.
Party officials warned that the circulation of false information could create confusion among aspirants, party members, and the electorate, particularly as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.
The APC also called on its members to verify political information before sharing it and cautioned against relying on unofficial sources capable of spreading misinformation and undermining confidence in the party’s internal processes.
Political observers note that the emergence of fake documents and unverified election results has become a recurring challenge during election seasons, highlighting the importance of official communication and responsible information sharing.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to conducting transparent and credible primary elections in line with its established procedures and Nigeria’s electoral laws.
As the nomination process progresses, the APC advised aspirants and stakeholders to await official announcements from the party leadership and INEC regarding the outcome of its primaries and candidate selections.
