Due Process Blasts Kenneth Okonkwo, Labels Him a Political Liability

Political commentator and public affairs analyst Akor Christian Oche, popularly known as “Due Process,” has launched a scathing attack on former Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, , accusing him of being excessively fixated on the political activities of Mr Peter Obi.

In a strongly worded statement, Due Process alleged that Okonkwo has transformed every media appearance into what he described as a “Nollywood stage play,” arguing that the actor-turned-politician has become more interested in attacking Obi than contributing meaningful ideas to Nigeria’s political development.

According to him, leaders of Okonkwo’s generation should be focused on confronting the nation’s governance challenges rather than engaging in what he characterized as personal and political vendettas.

“Kenneth Okonkwo is exactly what he has always been—a basket mouth that cannot stop leaking. Every media engagement has become a stage for drama rather than constructive national discourse,” Due Process said.

The commentator further alleged that Okonkwo’s recent political engagements have been driven by personal interests rather than ideological convictions, claiming that he has become increasingly critical of Obi’s growing political influence and business reputation.

Due Process also questioned Okonkwo’s political relevance, arguing that despite his visibility in the media, he has failed to demonstrate significant electoral value.

He claimed that the former actor would be unable to mobilize substantial electoral support for any political platform and suggested that his public interventions have become a liability to political figures associated with him.

In one of the strongest portions of his remarks, Due Process alleged that Okonkwo’s political alignment was motivated by financial considerations, accusing him of pursuing political patronage rather than principles.

He further claimed that the controversies generated by Okonkwo’s public statements could expose him to additional legal challenges, including defamation suits carrying significant financial consequences.

“Atiku Abubakar may eventually come to regret carrying a political liability. Beyond his inability to attract votes, Kenneth continues to attract controversies that may result in costly legal consequences,” he stated.

The remarks come amid ongoing political tensions involving Okonkwo, Obi, and emerging opposition realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Recent public exchanges between supporters and critics of both men have intensified following reports of legal disputes and disagreements over party affairs.

He further advised that it may not be too late for Okwonkwo to return to his acting career to earn a living other than backbiting Mr Peter Obi the most successful politician from Nigeria and indeed Africa with the largest organic support base globally.

As of the time of filing this report, Okonkwo had not publicly responded to the comments made by Due Process.
