Riley Moore has publicly commended former United States President Donald Trump following reports of a major counterterrorism operation targeting senior ISIS figures allegedly operating within Nigeria.
In a strongly worded statement, Moore expressed gratitude to Trump for what he described as keeping his promise to defend persecuted Christians and confront extremist violence in Nigeria. He specifically referenced the reported elimination of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, said to be the second-highest-ranking ISIS commander globally, alongside other suspected terrorist leaders accused of coordinating violent attacks, hostage-taking missions, and financial operations connected to ISIS activities.
According to Moore, the operation represents a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism and sends a direct warning to extremist groups responsible for attacks on innocent civilians and Christian communities across Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
He further praised the reported cooperation between the Nigerian government, Nigerian armed forces, and United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), describing the mission as an example of successful international security collaboration against global terrorism.
Moore stated that the strikes could help weaken terrorist networks allegedly linked to the movement of weapons, funding, and operational support into Nigeria’s Middle Belt region, an area that has witnessed years of violent attacks, displacement, and humanitarian crises.
While applauding the reported success of the operation, the U.S. lawmaker insisted that the fight against terrorism and religious persecution must continue. He warned that extremist violence remains a serious threat to peace, stability, and religious freedom in Nigeria, especially in communities frequently affected by insurgent and terrorist attacks.
He emphasized that global leaders and security institutions must remain committed to protecting innocent civilians, combating radical extremism, and ensuring that terrorist organizations are denied safe havens and operational networks across the region.
The statement has continued to generate reactions among security observers, religious groups, and political commentators, with many describing the reported operation as another significant development in ongoing international counterterrorism efforts in Africa.
