Peter Obi Commends ADC Convention, Urges Focus on National Challenges

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has praised the successful conduct of the recent convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

In a statement issued following the event, Obi commended the party’s leadership, particularly its chairman, David Mark, for providing steady guidance during a critical period. He also acknowledged the efforts of the convention organising committee led by former Cross River State governor Liyel Imoke, noting that their dedication ensured the success of the gathering.

Obi expressed appreciation to party delegates, supporters, and volunteers across the country and in the diaspora, stating that their commitment underscores the resilience of democratic values in Nigeria.

However, he stressed that the focus must now shift from celebration to addressing pressing national issues. According to him, Nigeria is currently grappling with economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and widespread uncertainty, which require urgent and decisive action.

The former Anambra State governor urged party members and stakeholders to prioritise unity, integrity, and national interest, emphasizing the need to develop practical solutions and strengthen institutions.

He concluded by reaffirming his belief in the possibility of building a better Nigeria through collective effort and sustained commitment to democratic principles.
