A self-styled investigative journalist known as “English-Alhaji” has sparked widespread reactions online after releasing a viral video alleging that the Federal Government secretly transported about 1,000 Boko Haram suspects from Borno State to Abuja using a military cargo aircraft.
In the video, he claimed to have received intelligence indicating that the operation involved a cargo plane and several Coaster buses used to move the individuals from the airport upon arrival in Abuja. He questioned the rationale behind relocating suspected Boko Haram terrorists from the North-East conflict zone to the nation’s capital under what he described as highly covert circumstances.
The commentator further attempted to link the alleged movement to recent security concerns involving the United States, including reports about precautionary measures affecting embassy operations in Abuja. According to him, the development raises serious questions about internal security decisions and public safety.
However, as of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from the Federal Government, the Nigerian military, or relevant security agencies regarding these claims. The allegations remain unverified, and no independent evidence has been presented to substantiate the figures or the narrative described in the video.
Security analysts typically caution against the spread of unverified information, especially on sensitive national security matters, as it may cause unnecessary panic or misinformation.
More details are expected as authorities respond or further evidence emerges.
