The Anambra State chapter of the has formally welcomed former Anambra State governor into the party, describing his entry as a significant development capable of reshaping the state’s political landscape.
In a statement issued in , the party leadership said Obi’s decision to join the ADC represents a major boost to its vision of building a credible political alternative in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the former governor officially obtained his membership card on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at his ward in , .
The party described the move as a “pivotal moment” in the state’s political history, noting that Obi’s entry strengthens the ADC’s position as a platform for reform-oriented leadership and democratic accountability.
Call for Mass Mobilization
Speaking on the development, the Anambra State Chairman of the ADC, , called on citizens who desire transparency, accountability, and progress to take advantage of the moment by joining the party.
Obianyo said Obi’s arrival signals the beginning of what he described as a broader national movement aimed at restoring good governance.
“The arrival of Peter Obi is a signal that the rescue mission for our nation has begun. We invite every progress-minded individual to join the ADC family immediately,” he said.

The party leadership also announced that it has opened registration platforms across wards in the state and online to accommodate a growing number of prospective members.
