Isaac Fayose Distances Self from ADC, Reaffirms Support for Peter Obi

Nigerian businessman and political commentator has publicly clarified his political position amid growing conversations about party alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a video clip shared by the , Fayose stated unequivocally that he is not a member of the (ADC), dismissing assumptions linking him to the party. He emphasized that he would never join ADC, stressing that his political engagement is not tied to formal party membership.

Instead, Fayose described himself as belonging to what he termed the “Nigerian Party,” a phrase he uses to express loyalty to national interest over partisan structures. According to him, his political involvement is issue-driven rather than organization-based.

Fayose also reaffirmed his support for former Labour Party presidential candidate , clarifying that his public advocacy stems from personal conviction in Obi’s leadership vision rather than affiliation with any political party.

“I’m not a member of ADC, and I’ll never be a member of ADC. The only party I’m in is the Nigerian Party. What is good for Nigerians is what I follow, and the only candidate I like is Peter Obi, so don’t go and mistakenly think I’m in ADC or I’m part of you. I’m not part of you; it’s Peter Obi I like, and anything about Obi brings out my muscle,” Fayose stated.

His remarks come amid shifting political realignments and speculation about coalition-building ahead of 2027, as key figures and support groups continue to define their positions within Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
