Burna Boy’s Mum Reveals She Takes Away His Phone During Instagram Live Outbursts

Bose Ogulu, the mother and manager of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, has revealed how she sometimes intervenes when her son becomes overly outspoken during Instagram Live sessions.

Ogulu made the revelation while discussing Burna Boy’s personality and public image during an appearance on Channels Television, where she was interviewed by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

According to the music executive, Burna Boy’s public behaviour is closely connected to the same personality traits that have contributed to his appeal as an artiste. She explained that people have to accept different sides of his character rather than attempting to change one aspect of his personality.

“You can always notice the difference between when I tweet and when Burna tweets,” Ogulu said, describing artistes such as her son as being like a tapestry.

“If you pull at one thread too hard, everything will unravel,” she added, stressing the importance of allowing him to remain himself.

Ogulu also disclosed the practical step she sometimes takes when Burna Boy’s social media activity becomes intense.

“Anytime he goes wild on Instagram Live, I usually have to take his phone away from him,” she said.

The revelation has drawn attention because Burna Boy is known for his outspoken personality and unfiltered interactions with fans online. His Instagram Live sessions have occasionally generated widespread discussion, making his mother’s behind-the-scenes account an insight into how his team manages his public presence.

The comments also highlight Ogulu’s dual role as both mother and manager. She has played a significant role in Burna Boy’s career and has been involved in managing his professional activities for years.

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, is one of Nigeria’s most internationally recognised Afrobeats artistes. His career has earned him major global recognition, including a Grammy Award, while Bose Ogulu remains an influential figure in his career and public image.
