The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has advanced the ongoing paramilitary recruitment exercise, announcing the next stage for applicants seeking positions in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
The development is part of the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise covering Nigeria’s four major paramilitary services under the supervision of the board.
Applicants who successfully passed the Computer-Based Test (CBT) are being moved through the subsequent stages of the selection process, including physical screening, document verification and other assessments required before final recruitment.
The CDCFIB had earlier directed successful candidates to use the official recruitment platform to confirm their status, upload relevant credentials and select their preferred screening date and venue.
The board has repeatedly advised applicants to rely only on its official communication channels and recruitment portal for information concerning the exercise. This is particularly important because fake recruitment notices and fraudulent individuals have previously targeted applicants seeking updates about the process.
The latest development is significant for thousands of Nigerians who participated in the recruitment exercise and have been waiting for confirmation of their progress. Successful candidates are expected to comply with the instructions provided by the board and appear at designated screening centres with the required documents.
The recruitment process began with online applications in 2025 and later progressed to a nationwide CBT conducted in November of that year. The exercise covers the NSCDC, NIS, Federal Fire Service and Nigerian Correctional Service.
CDCFIB Secretary, retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jibril, previously said the selection process would be guided by merit, federal character, due process and the operational requirements of the four services.
The board also stated that it intends to complete the recruitment exercise without compromising established procedures.
Applicants are therefore advised to remain vigilant, avoid unofficial agents requesting payment and verify all recruitment information through CDCFIB’s authorised channels as the exercise moves toward its final stages.
