OSUN STATE — Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Results Viewing Portal (IReV) as of 8:00 p.m. indicate that incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is maintaining a lead over other candidates in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
The emerging figures have heightened political tension and anticipation across the state as parties and their supporters closely monitor the electronic transmission of results from polling units.
With the counting and uploading process continuing, attention is increasingly focused on what political observers have described as INEC’s “magic hour”—the critical period when a significant volume of outstanding results could alter the standings.
However, the results displayed on IReV remain subject to the official collation process. Parties and observers have therefore been urged to rely on results formally uploaded by INEC and verified through the appropriate collation centres rather than unverified claims circulating on social media.
Governor Adeleke’s supporters have welcomed the emerging figures as evidence of continued voter support, while rival camps are expected to scrutinise the results and the collation process as more polling-unit results become available.
