Police Kill Four Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Five Victims in Lagos–Ogun Security Operations

The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against violent crime, with operatives in Lagos and Ogun States killing four suspected kidnappers, rescuing five abducted victims, and arresting 88 suspects during coordinated security operations.

According to police authorities, the operations were carried out across forests, highways, and identified criminal hideouts following intelligence-driven investigations aimed at dismantling kidnapping and other criminal networks operating in the two states.

The police said four suspected kidnappers were killed during separate confrontations with security personnel, while five kidnapped victims were successfully rescued and reunited with safety.

In addition to the rescues, officers arrested 88 suspects for various offences during the coordinated raids. The suspects are expected to undergo further investigation, with those found culpable to be charged to court in accordance with the law.

The operations formed part of intensified efforts by the police to curb kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, and other violent crimes that have posed security challenges in parts of Lagos and Ogun States.

Police authorities noted that intelligence gathering, surveillance, and collaboration with local communities were instrumental to the success of the operations, reaffirming the Force’s commitment to proactive policing and rapid response to criminal activities.

Security experts have welcomed the development, describing sustained intelligence-led operations as essential to disrupting organised criminal groups and improving public safety. They also emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between security agencies and residents through the timely sharing of credible information.

The Nigeria Police Force urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement agencies with useful intelligence that could aid ongoing efforts to prevent crime and apprehend offenders.

The latest operation underscores the continuing efforts of security agencies to strengthen security across the country, dismantle kidnapping syndicates, and ensure that perpetrators of violent crimes are brought to justice.
