Abuja, March 2, 2026 – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied circulating reports that it is conducting congresses across the country. In a statement issued by the party’s National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, the PDP said the information is false and being spread by expelled members with alleged ties to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party described the actions of these individuals as an attempt to undermine the PDP and derail democratic processes, accusing them of using the platform for political negotiations and personal gain during past elections, including the recently concluded FCT Area Council polls.
Turaki emphasized that the PDP remains committed to its internal processes, noting that the party is currently focused on digital membership registration, which is ongoing and progressing smoothly.
The PDP urged members and the public to disregard claims of planned congresses, pledging to keep stakeholders informed as political developments unfold.
