Easter Members: “Let Us Not Despair” — Labour Party Urges Hope, Faith, and National Renewal – Sen Nenadi

As Christians in Nigeria and across the world mark the solemn celebration of Easter, the Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party Nigeria, Nenadi Usman, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful for a better future despite prevailing national challenges.
In her Easter message issued on April 4, 2026, Usman extended warm felicitations to Nigerian Christians, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of triumph over adversity, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
She noted that Christ’s resurrection—following immense suffering and crucifixion—serves as a powerful reminder of the core values of Christianity, particularly faith, resilience, and the willingness to forgive even in the face of persecution. According to her, these virtues remain critical for both individual and national renewal.
Addressing the current state of the nation, the Labour Party leader urged citizens not to succumb to despair, drawing parallels between the hope held by Christ’s disciples and the need for Nigerians to believe in the possibility of a brighter future.
She also called on those in positions of authority to intensify efforts toward alleviating the hardship faced by Nigerians, while stressing that citizens themselves share responsibility in shaping a more just and united society.
“At this pivotal moment in our national history, Nigerians must reflect deeply on the condition of the country and their individual roles in driving progress,” the statement emphasized, highlighting the importance of integrity, diligence, and patriotism.
While reiterating the need for purposeful leadership, Usman underscored that national development requires collective commitment from both leaders and citizens alike.
The statement concluded with a message of peace and goodwill, wishing all Nigerian Christians a reflective, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling Easter celebration.
