The Coalition of Protection for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) has formally submitted its draft contribution to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Constitution Review Committee, following the party’s official call for inputs from strategic stakeholders.
The submission, made at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja, underscores COPDEM’s commitment to the strengthening and modernization of the party’s internal structures.
Speaking during the submission, COPDEM representatives stated that the organisation’s draft document reflects extensive consultations involving national executive members, state structures, legal advisers, and grassroots mobilization units.
According to the group, the draft focuses on six major areas considered critical to the party’s growth and future stability. These include:
• Strengthening internal democracy and ensuring transparent nomination processes
• Clearer structural definitions for civil societies and affiliated organisations
• Enhanced inclusion frameworks for youth and women in leadership spaces
• Digital membership registration and verification systems
• Updated disciplinary procedures and dispute-resolution mechanisms
• Official recognition and integration guidelines for partner bodies such as COPDEM
COPDEM emphasized that its recommendations are designed to support the ADC’s ongoing reforms and position the party for stronger national relevance ahead of future elections.

The ADC Constitution Review Committee Chairman Chief CID Maduabum acknowledged receipt of the document and assured that all submissions from stakeholders would be reviewed objectively and integrated where necessary.
The committee is expected to continue receiving inputs until the close of the review window, after which a consolidated draft will be presented to the party leadership for further consideration.
