The (COPDEM) Students Network has officially constituted its 2026 national executive leadership, marking a significant step in strengthening student participation in democratic advocacy and civic engagement across Nigerian campuses.
The newly appointed National President of the COPDEM Students Network, Igbokwe Emmanuel, formally accepted his mandate in a statement expressing gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. Addressing the leadership of COPDEM, stakeholders, and students nationwide, he described his emergence as a call to serve with integrity and unwavering commitment to democracy, justice, and good governance.

According to him, students represent not only the future but also the present strength of the nation. He emphasized that under his leadership, the Students Network will prioritize unity, civic awareness, responsible engagement, and the establishment of a formidable and functional structure across campuses nationwide. He pledged to work collaboratively with all members to transform the Network into a vibrant platform for democratic education, advocacy, and positive participation in national development.
“I accept this responsibility with humility and determination, and I look forward to serving faithfully,” he stated, assuring members of disciplined and value-driven leadership.
Similarly, the newly appointed Secretary of the COPDEM Students Network (CSN), Morgan Peace Aimeighomwan, delivered her acceptance speech, expressing appreciation for the trust reposed in her. She described the office of the Secretary as strategic and central to coordination, communication, and institutional memory within the Network.

She pledged to uphold transparency, accountability, and proper documentation as foundational principles necessary for building a credible and result-oriented student movement. According to her, effective record-keeping, structured communication, and organized dissemination of information will be key to strengthening unity and participation among members nationwide.
Highlighting the critical role of students in Nigeria’s democratic journey, she noted that discipline, teamwork, and strategic coordination would enable the Network to amplify student voices and promote civic responsibility across tertiary institutions.
The newly constituted executive leadership is expected to work closely with national stakeholders and campus coordinators to deepen student engagement and expand COPDEM’s democratic advocacy footprint ahead of 2026 activities.
The COPDEM Students Network reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a transparent, vibrant, and impact-driven student movement dedicated to protecting democratic values and promoting good governance in Nigeria.
