A prominent businessman and philanthropist from Kaduna, Mahadi Shehu, has pledged to support the suspended Kebbi school teacher, Abduljalal Usman by offering him lifetime employment if he loses his job.
Shehu made the commitment following the suspension of Usman by the Kebbi State government, sparking reactions and solidarity from various quarters.
According to the Kaduna-based philanthropist, the teacher does not need to relocate from Kebbi to Kaduna State to take up the offer. Instead, Usman can remain in the state and choose any school where he wishes to continue teaching on a voluntary basis.
Shehu stated that he would personally take responsibility for paying the teacher’s salary for life.
He further assured that Usman would also enjoy career progression similar to that of a regular civil servant, including salary increments and promotions every three years, provided he continues teaching.
The gesture, observers say, is intended to demonstrate solidarity with the teacher during the controversy surrounding his suspension.
The development has generated widespread reactions, with many praising the philanthropist for stepping in to support the educator during a difficult moment. 🙏📚✨
Shehu concluded his message with prayers for the teacher and encouragement for him to remain committed to education and service.
