The (ADC) in has publicly disassociated itself from a purported meeting scheduled to take place in Awka on Saturday, March 7, 2026, describing the gathering as unauthorized and lacking the approval of the party’s leadership.
In a press statement issued on Friday by the State Working Committee (SWC), the party leadership warned members, supporters, and the general public to disregard any invitation linked to the meeting reportedly being organized by a group identified as MRMR Anambra State.
The statement, released from the party’s state secretariat in , emphasized that the ADC leadership in the state was neither consulted nor involved in planning the event.
According to the SWC, the proposed gathering does not have the legitimacy or authorization of the party and violates established internal procedures guiding the operations of the party structure.
“The State Working Committee categorically states that this program is unauthorized and illegal. The ADC in Anambra State was not consulted and is not a party to the meeting,” the statement read.
The party leadership further directed all loyal members and supporters across the state to boycott the meeting, stressing that participation in such an event would amount to disregarding the party’s constitutional processes.
The statement reiterated that the ADC remains committed to orderliness, discipline, and adherence to the party constitution. Members were therefore urged to ignore all communications relating to the meeting and to await official directives only from the recognized state secretariat.
The development comes amid ongoing political activities and internal consultations within the ADC ahead of future political engagements in Anambra State.
