ADC Reinforces Youth Inclusion Agenda at High-Level Abuja Meeting

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has once again underscored its commitment to youth inclusion and leadership development, following a strategic closed-door meeting held over the weekend in Abuja.

The meeting brought together the National Youth Leader of the ADC, Comrade Balarabe Rufa’i, and the ADC Transition Committee Chairman for Taraba State, Distinguished Senator Abubakar Umar Tutare, in what party stakeholders describe as a significant step toward consolidating the ADC’s youth-driven political vision.

According to sources familiar with the engagement, discussions were centered on strengthening the party through deliberate and structured youth mobilization, empowerment programmes, and leadership grooming. Both leaders emphasized that young Nigerians must not merely be participants but the backbone of the ADC’s present and future, given their demographic strength, energy, and role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

Comrade Balarabe Rufa’i highlighted the ADC’s resolve to institutionalize youth participation across all levels of party organization, noting that the party is intentionally positioning itself as a platform where young people can lead, innovate, and influence policy direction.

In his remarks, Senator Abubakar Umar Tutare reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to inclusive youth participation, describing it as a critical driver for building a vibrant, people-centred, and sustainable ADC. He stressed that empowering young people within the party structure is essential to restoring public confidence in politics and delivering meaningful governance outcomes.

The meeting reinforces the ADC’s growing reputation as a youth-inclusive political party that prioritizes capacity building, generational balance, and grassroots engagement, particularly as Nigeria’s political space continues to witness increased demand for youthful leadership and reform-oriented politics.

Political observers note that such engagements signal the ADC’s strategic focus on harnessing the potential of Nigeria’s large youth population as a catalyst for national renewal and democratic consolidation.
