Reports circulating on social media suggest that an anonymous warning about possible threats to Peter Obi’s life may have materialized after recent developments raised concerns among supporters.
The prediction, which was reportedly shared online by Anonymous, had cautioned that the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate could face danger. Following the latest incident, some supporters have pointed to it as evidence that the warning was not unfounded.
In an interview on #WithChude, Mr Peter Obi said that the way the Tinubu-led APC government is attacking opposition leaders has become deeply concerning, warning that he may not be alive to contest the 2027 general elections if the trend continues.
Obi said the growing hostility toward opposition voices poses a serious threat to democracy and called for a political environment where all candidates can campaign freely and safely.
The development has sparked renewed calls for vigilance, with supporters urging security agencies to take all threats against political figures seriously and ensure adequate protection ahead of the elections.
This is the anonymous speaking. “Before we continue with the blessings we promised, we need you all to remember this exposition. We told you that the government of Ahmed TB is trying to remove all competition before the upcoming election because they already know that the citizens will not stand by them anymore. The man Obi Peter must be protected at all costs because he is the key to a better future for each and every one of you from the former country”. — Anonymous
