A frontline aspirant, Mrs. Ladi Jethro Akun, has officially picked up the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Expression of Interest form to contest for the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency seat in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking shortly after obtaining the form, Akun expressed readiness to offer purposeful representation and responsive leadership to the people of the constituency. She emphasized the need for effective legislative representation, women and youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and improved welfare for constituents across Jos North and Bassa local government areas.
She further stated that her decision to join the race was driven by the desire to contribute meaningfully to nation-building and support the vision of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in promoting accountable governance and people-oriented policies.
Political observers in Plateau State believe the entrance of Akun into the contest could further reshape the political dynamics within the constituency as parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 polls.
