The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has congratulated Senator Tony Nwoye on his emergence as Senate Minority Whip, describing the development as a reflection of his credibility and the party’s growing political relevance.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said Nwoye’s elevation underscores increasing confidence in the ADC as a platform for responsible opposition and national renewal.
The party noted that the appointment comes at a critical time when Nigeria’s democracy requires stronger institutions, accountability, and effective legislative engagement. It added that the development signals the ADC’s readiness to play a more decisive role in deepening democratic practices and advancing the interests of Nigerians.
According to the statement, Nwoye’s emergence reflects his consistency, courage, and commitment to democratic values, expressing confidence that he will bring diligence and balance to his new role in the National Assembly.
The ADC also linked the milestone to its broader ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that it is prepared not only to contest but to provide credible leadership based on integrity, competence, and service.
The party concluded by reaffirming its commitment to strengthening democratic governance and offering Nigerians an alternative political platform.
