ADC Clarifies Transition Timeline for Newly Elected Party Executives

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that newly elected party executives will only assume office after their formal inauguration scheduled for May 12, 2026.

In a press statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC emphasized that the tenure of incoming state executives and other officers will not begin until the expiration of the current leadership’s term and their official swearing-in.

The party clarified that all existing executives remain the duly recognized officers until the transition process is completed in line with its constitution.

The statement also cautioned newly elected officials, particularly at the state level, against taking any actions or making representations that could conflict with the directive or create confusion within the party’s structure.

Reaffirming its commitment to internal order and discipline, the ADC noted that the transition process reflects its adherence to constitutional procedures and democratic principles.
