ADC Denies Resignation Claims, Affirms David Mark Remains National Chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has resigned, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a press statement issued by the Chairman’s Media Office, the party stated that there is no truth to the reports, insisting that Mark remains fully in charge of the party’s leadership.

The ADC described the resignation rumours as “an insidious fabrication,” accusing unnamed individuals of spreading false information to create confusion within the party.

“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood,” the statement said, adding that there has been no discussion or plan regarding his resignation.

The party also maintained that its leadership remains united and focused on strengthening democratic values and positioning the ADC as a credible political alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Furthermore, the ADC warned against what it described as attempts to destabilize the party, suggesting that such actions may be linked to concerns over its growing influence in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria’s multi-party system, the party called on the public to disregard the reports and remain confident in its leadership structure.
