The (ADC) has officially announced the commencement of free online membership registration across Nigeria, expanding its ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise launched last month in Abuja.
In a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the party, the ADC disclosed that the new digital registration platform — accessible via www.adcregistration.ng — represents a significant step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, as well as its forthcoming congresses and conventions. The party confirmed that manual registration will continue simultaneously at grassroots levels across the country.
According to the statement, the newly introduced online portal is designed to ensure full compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, particularly requirements concerning the maintenance of a verified digital membership register. The ADC clarified that only individuals whose details are completely captured and verified in the party’s official digital database will be eligible to vote or be voted for during the party’s primaries.
The party noted that since the commencement of its physical and grassroots membership exercise in February, it has witnessed strong interest from Nigerians across various states and within the diaspora community. It stated that the introduction of a free online option is aimed at removing barriers to participation, simplifying the enrolment process, and ensuring that every eligible Nigerian can seamlessly and securely register as a member of the ADC.
Furthermore, the party directed members who had previously registered on its former digital platform to revalidate their membership through the new portal, as additional mandatory information is now required to meet updated legal and regulatory standards in line with INEC guidelines.
Support groups and associations were also encouraged to utilise the online platform to complete their onboarding process within the stipulated timeframe.
While reiterating its commitment to institutional compliance, the ADC emphasized that the digital registration exercise does not in any way alter its firm objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which it maintains grant undue advantage to the ruling party, as well as concerns surrounding aspects of the current INEC timetable.
The African Democratic Congress reaffirmed its dedication to building a modern, inclusive, and citizen-driven political movement focused on delivering credible leadership and advancing a Nigeria that works for all.
Signed:
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi
National Publicity Secretary
African Democratic Congress (ADC)
