The 2026/27 Premier League has reached its first international break after five matches, with Manchester City the only club to maintain a perfect record. City have won all five games, while Arsenal, Brighton, Brentford and Leeds are among the other sides making strong starts.
According to the ranking published by PUNCH, based on the BBC Sport assessment of each club’s opening five matches, Brighton received the highest performance rating at 9/10 alongside Manchester City, while Brentford and Hull City were rated 8/10. Arsenal received 7/10 despite their 3–0 defeat to Brighton.
At the other end, Tottenham Hotspur received a 2/10 rating, following a difficult opening to the campaign. Spurs lost 3–2 to Aston Villa in their latest fixture, extending their struggles. Manchester United were rated 4/10 after collecting just one win from five matches and drawing 1–1 with Fulham.
Liverpool remain unbeaten but were rated 6/10, while Chelsea also received 6/10 after losing two of their last three matches. Fulham are still searching for their first victory, despite draws against Liverpool and Manchester United.
The league will now enter an international break, with Premier League action scheduled to resume on October 10, 2026. The early standings provide only a snapshot of the campaign, with 33 matchweeks still remaining.
