The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) has intensified its nationwide mobilization campaign with an expanded membership drive into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the party’s crucial primaries for the 2027 general elections.
The coalition said the renewed effort is aimed at ensuring that credible, competent, and compassionate leaders emerge through a transparent democratic process, urging Nigerians across all states to actively register as members of the ADC and participate in shaping the party’s future.
According to COPDEM, the primaries represent a critical stage in determining the quality of leadership that will be presented to Nigerians in 2027, stressing that citizens must not remain passive observers while the nation’s future is being decided.
The group called on youths, women, professionals, traders, artisans, civil society organizations, and grassroots mobilizers to seize the moment by joining the ADC and strengthening the movement for national rescue and democratic accountability.
COPDEM maintained that political transformation can only happen when citizens become directly involved in the internal democratic processes of political parties rather than waiting until general elections to react.
The coalition described the ADC as a viable platform for Nigerians seeking purposeful leadership anchored on competence, compassion, justice, and national development.

“This is the time for action. Nigerians must register massively and participate in the ADC primaries to ensure that only credible and compassionate candidates emerge. The future of the country depends on the decisions we make now,” the coalition stated.
As coalition talks and political realignments continue to gather momentum across the country, COPDEM believes that broad-based participation in the ADC primaries will be a major step toward building a stronger and more credible opposition ahead of 2027.
