Abuja, March 2026 – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Diaspora Network, Middle-East and Asia (ADC-DN) has urged the party leadership to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria, with a strong preference for the South-East geopolitical zone.
The recommendation emerged during the group’s recent Executive Council meeting, where members emphasized that such a decision would foster national unity, equity, and justice.
In a statement, ADC-DN highlighted the strategic importance of ensuring balanced regional representation in Nigeria’s political landscape, underscoring the need for inclusivity and fairness in the party’s approach to the upcoming general elections.
The call adds to ongoing discussions within the ADC regarding regional zoning and candidate selection ahead of the 2027 elections, reflecting the party’s efforts to align its political strategy with both domestic and international stakeholder expectations.
